Shogun

I found a mid-80s Shogun on Craigs over in a neighboring town. No pics on the ad but he did say it had an aluminum frame. What I wanted to know is if this is a more collectible Shogun as Inhave not heard of their aluminum frame models. I will be emailing him for more info shortly. Thanx, guys!

The handful of Shogun road bikes I've read about were steel . Maybe it's something other than a road bike ?

As far as I know, Shogun was just another one of a long line of marketing branded bikes (built by others). Easy enough for them to spec in an aluminum frame model.

Here's a seller that claims their vintage Shogun has an aluminum frame, pics are not good enough to tell, but it looks like it.

By the late 1980s, several of the Asian brands were rolling out aluminum frame bikes.

Also realize the Shogun name is still being used, and many of them have aluminum frames.

Here's an example, Target's "finest":

I see that there are contemporary style road bikes with the Shogun decals over at Ebay, too.

**still no email reply from the seller**

Ok, just opened an email from the seller complete with an excellent picture that answers all my questions......

It's a frickin' MIXTE. Argh.

Oh but it's a racing mixte with aluminum frame

Heh I have one of those, in baby blue. Mine is pretty cheap looking though. Stamped dropouts etc. Oh and not aluminum  Sounds like a far reaching brand!

While I could pocket $200 profit to flip it, I have such a measily amount invested in it, I'm thinking of keeping it.

Smooth or hammered fenders?
