54 tooth Nervar crank

Due to a recent wreck, I am kind of thinking about selling some of my stash on ebay(they took a lot of xrays and I need to pay for them!)

One of the things I was hanging onto is a Nervar crankset off a Schwinn world tourist. I wanted to keep it just in case I found a bike I could use it on, or else trade it for something someday on the for trade forum, but...

I am wondering if the high tooth count, 54 on the big ring, I think a 40 on the small, will effect what it might bring on ebay. There is one now with a 52 tooth, three days to go, that is up to sixty dollars already. That just seems larger than most would want these days.

Not looking to make a killing, but if it won't bring that much I would rather keep it. It has the protecting pant/ring, and is in ok shape, with a few small dings, I would seriously call it a nine. I can hobble out and take a picture, but figured you guys know what one looks like.

The World Tourist used Japanese cranks. If you mean a 40-54T crank like this:

Then it came off of a '72-'75 Sports Tourer. For '71 only they had 36-54T rings. I've seen those sell for between $50 to $75, maybe more depending on condition. The same bikes also used TA cranks interchangeably with the Nervar. For some reason the TA seems to be more desirable as they usually sell for a little more.

PS: Condolences on the wreck, hope everything heals ok.

Ah, your right, I got the name wrong. Yes, those are the cranks. Don't know why I typed that, I own a world tourist with the FF system, I should know better.

Thanks for the info.
