Value of late 90s Bianchi Volpe?
Hi, I purchased a Bianchi Volpe for ~350 dollars located in the San Francisco Bay Area and wanted to know if it was a deal or not. It's a late 90's model Bianchi Volpe with Shimano 600 brakes and Shimano 600 SIS rear derailleurs. It's around 53 cm frame height and the tires were a bit worn in that I'd have to replace them probably within the end of the year. That's all I really know about it but here's a picture...

Can you post a few better pics? Perhaps a bit closer to the bike showing some of the componnets?
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but that is neither a Volpe nor a late '90s Bianchi even. A Volpe would have cantilever brakes and a triple crankset. The decal style and the paint scheme tell me this bike started life as a '88 Trofeo but some better pics may help make a more positive ID on the frame and what model it may have been. I sometimes see bikes with this color scheme and 600/Ultegra listed as Limiteds (with a limited TT decal) but it was not cataloged that way.
What is the frame tubing? Is it Bianchi Formula two? what about the cranks. depending on the overall condition I would say you did fair at $350 for a decent Bianchi road bike.

A late '90s Volpe would look more like this

Thanks for all the information. I'm a new biker so I don't have the answers to all those questions and the bike was also just a gift to a relative who is going to college soon and wanted a decent bike for commuting. From what I can tell it's a good bike and based on your information I think it was an all right deal, wasn't bad.
