Thanks Bianchigirl! As you can see from how little the seatpost is protruding, the frame is a little bigger than I am used to -- the stand-over height is a bit, well, let's call it "snug". But I did manage to get the contact points dialled in just right with the 90mm stem and short-reach bars. And I get lots of compliments and looks from my group ride, which is a carbon-fest of course. My regular ride is a 49mm Cervelo.

She's a real beauty! You did a great job on the build to.

I always considered Ciocc to be a top tier brand. They had a good reputation for excellent build quality and they didn't build anything one can consider entry level either. I think the price was right, it's a very unique frame and let's face it, after the first pull on the pedals, money no longer matters!

Really lovely build!

I think I was one of the first to take a look at the frame, I made him some offers but he wouldn't move from $650 initially, I think it's worth about $500 just by virtue of how unique it is. Needless to say I have some regrets I didn't keep pressing the price so I could build up such a beauty! Nice choice of components too. It was a tough choice but I ended up getting a Pinarello Montello SLX frame instead of the Ciocc.

Campy Veloce (because I wanted silver as opposed to black), box section Mavic Open Sport rims laced to DT350 hubs (rear-spacing a bit off but it worked out), Ritchey Classic post, stem and bars. 20lbs 5oz -- I thought it would be about 22lbs. I was going to hunt for old '80's Campy stuff off Ebay, but wanted a classic look with modern rideability.

Rides as smooth as butter. Very nice. Don't regret overpaying for the frame. All told, about $1,700 CDN. To put it into perspective, this would be the same price as a character-less generic aluminum-framed 105-equipped entry-level to "enthusiast" bike from various manufacturers.
