Reasonable asking price for my 1985 Bridgestone MB-1? All original
I have a 1985 Bridgestone MB-1, every last part on it is original (even the tires, heh). Frame 19". Paint has a few nicks, but bike was obviously not used for much mountain biking. I did some research on asking price, someone on another forum posted his at $600 shipped, is that unreasonable? His was an '87.. I would imagine the earlier one would be more desirable. I read on here though that some on eBay did not sell for $300, but I have no idea what they were as the completed listings are long gone. Can post some pics later.

With MB-1's, the value comes in after Grant Petersen designed them. Later 80's till early 90's fetch the premium prices. While yours may be nice, its value is probably in the 150 to 250 range.

And like anything ebay, your willingness and ability to ship at a reasonable price will be key, otherwise sell locally. If it is really in the $150 to $250, myself, I would just go the local route. Ebay is a PITA, sellers always win ANY dispute, packing and shipping is fairly involved, etc.
As far as tracking prior auctions, ebay history only goes back two weeks, so you have to watch ebay for a while to identify trends and values.
Well, sounds like you know ebay extremely well. In that case, I might just try it.

Yea I know it only goes back 2 weeks, I have been monitoring for a while. Ok that makes sense I did not know that about the Bridgestone designer timeline. I read Sheldon Browns article but I didn't notice the part about the late '80s.
I ship world wide for the most part. Only to Russia and Australia (maybe Africa, never had a buyer from there
) are the prices ridiculous.
Thanks for the info!
