Late 80's Schwinn Le Tour
I'm looking at this 88' or 89' Schwinn Le Tour on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...:X:RTQ:US:1123
It looks to be in great condition, no rust, well functioning components. It does need new tubes and tires. The seller is asking $150 for the bike and $75 for shipping. Is it worth it or should I keep looking? |
The seller is full of crap. From the listing: "These bikes sold for over $900 in the early 1980's and were used worldwide on road races."
The bike needs tires, cables, handlebar tape, no telling what else. $225 is way too much. |
It's a 1988 model year Le Tour. According to the 1988 price list, MSRP was $349.95.

Exactly the information I needed. Thanks

Yeah, seller is BS.
But it's still a nice bike that looks pretty clean, besides needing some work. If you plan to do the work yourself and can get it for around $100 on a local pickup I think you're doing pretty well. |
