Jeunet Something or Other - ???

I just finished refurbishing this lovely old Jeunet Ten Speed, however; I am not well schooled in the Jeunet model line-up. With that in mind, does anyone have any idea of what model this bike is and where it would settle out in the Jeunet hierarchy? I am guessing the vintage to be early to mid seventies...

The subject bicycle is a late boom era, Canadian market Jeunet model #5 "Classique". It was 5th in a line of 6 lightweights.

Thanks T-Mar. I do appreciate the information and wish, time and again, that I had better access to some of the histories of the various bicycles, that have come and gone over the years.

Glad to help. It was a simple matter of matching the specs with those in my old distributor's catalogs. During this period our Peugeot distributor also handled Jeunet. Though we didn't stock them as a regular line, we could special order them. I ended up getting a 1974 Jeunet #9 "Professionel". which I owned for a short period.

I like the color this is the only Jeunet I have ever seen in yellow in person or online.

I have run across a few old Jeunet road bicycles, including the Yellow one, a blue one that I have right now and, of course, this lovely old Jeunet Mixte that found its way into The Old Shed in near mint condition.

I also have a Jeunet Captivante hanging in The Old Shed but that bike is cosmetically challenged, sporing badly faded paint and some oxidation on the chrome. That said, the bike is silly light for its age and quality level. The tubing has a nice ring to it and the bike comes in a just under 22 pounds, as I recall.

A few years ago I parted with a nice Jeunet Captivante frame and fork set. And, more recently I gave a small size kids Jeunet road bicycle to a friend.
