The seller claims it to be in excellent condition. I'm guessing the components are Chorus. Any idea what this might be worth.

Thanks!

Fork appears speckled with rust. Stretches the definition of excellent condition.

Tires look old, and bar tape looks tattered. Neither are big deals, but both = discount where I am from. Front tire is flat = lazy seller.

It also looks like a repaint, I am not sure on that part.

Plus the seller mentions it is an estate sale find. I have never found a bike at an estate sale that did not need work, often, a lot of work.

In for the rest of it, I would like to see some values myself as I have a Masi Gran Corsa in the to find a new home queue.

I've seen this bike before here on bikeforums. Some folks think this may be a scammer.

I bought a bike from this seller before, he's legitimate. He buys and sells anything he can put his hands on, his knowledge of bicycles is very limited. Judging by my one experience, he does have a distorted definition of excellent condition.

I think "excellent condition" would go hand in hand with "higher pre negotiation price"?

Ok. I talked to the guy and he told me he paid 500.00 for it which I think it is probably worth if in fact it is built up with chorus and the condition is good. I bought a really nice example with chorus group/brifters for 500.00 a year ago on cr and love it

If it were on my local CL at $600 I would probably drive right over and pick it up.

Probably is a nice rider.

I would need to see the components before I would go into deeper water.

If the seller bought it for $500 he saw the name and only referenced enough to see Masi's can go for decent dollars, too bad.
I agree, at $500. the bike is worth a risk. The frame sets have had a wide variety of trackable sales prices, from $175. to $400. (400 was way too much)
This frame was forth string in the Masi USA lineup, third as the Gran Criterium was kind of on close out at the time.
I do like this frame more than the Nuova Strada just above it for whatever that is worth.
I would assume as others do that the bike will need mechanical attention, and the tires are probably suspect. Hard to tell but it may have Fir rims, a good thing.
