Not in my book, and especially not with bad tires, but what do I know? I'm certainly not a collector.

I've never understood the fascination with certain pre-bike boom French bikes unless we're talking Alex Singer, Rene Herse etc.

I don't see a PX. I see a lower end Peugeot in rough condition. Does appear to be from the 1960s though. I'd go $100 on it.

Seller is hoping to catch a collector. Two problems: CL generally doesn't net many (read: one to none), and those it does will want to pay less. Expect to see this ad for a long time-- there's a couple of them on my local CLs that have been running for nearly a year now (a Raleigh and a Moulton, both seriously overpriced). And a third problem: collectors willing to pay a lot of kale tend to know exactly what they are looking at.

At about 200$ or so bike would likely sell. If the seller wants 600 for that bike, they'll need to go onto the bay, and even there it's uncertain.

That bike has been for sale since July '12. I offered the seller $250 for the bike and they told me to pound sand. The bike is also up on eBay. The price of the bike goes up to $600 then it'll go down to $500 then it'll go back up.

At one point, the price on the eBay auction went a little too low - hubby and wifey weren't communicating price-wise - and I pointed out to wifey I could buy the bike on eBay, decline the shipping, and come pick it up and by the time they paid eBay auction fees on the listing and on the shipping, they'd be netting only $275 so why not take the $250 I initially offered her? She politely again told me to go pound sand and promptly raised the eBay price to it's current stratospheric level.

They have an unrealistic idea of what the bike is worth and are unwilling to negotiate even slightly on the price. The bike's been on the market for over 8 months at between $500 and $600. The couple has several bikes on eBay and on New Haven CL and they're all overpriced and they've all been up for sale for months.

Oh, one more thing: given eBay's current auction prices, you're gonna be shelling out another $75-100 to replace the broken Soubitez taillight.
