Completed Trek 1985 Trek 450 Restoration

Hi everyone,

Thank you for your initial thoughts on the bike I salvaged. It is now complete, and I would like to hear your thoughts. I added new cables, housing, saddle, bar tape, chain, tubes, and tires. There are areas of rust, but the bike rides well.

It also has:

Campagnolo (Victory?) crankset
Campagnolo F & R derailleur
Campagnolo shifters
27" StaTru wheelset
True Temper Tubing

Thanks a lot!

Looks good! Nice job. Only one suggestion - replace the exposed cam QR skewer on the back with a steel enclosed cam unit (like Shimano.) That skewer may not hold the wheel in place in the horizontal dropout if a strong rider starts sprinting on it.

Very nice! I typically prefer gumwalls on bikes of this era, but I think yours looks really nice with the all black tires, black tape, and black saddle. Well done!

Thanks, guys. It was my first project. Too bad it is too big. I look forward selling this and working on something I can ride.

Very nice bike I would think in the $400-500 price range depending on market would not be unreasonable. The thing to keep in mind is it might take a while to sell at full price maybe a couple month or more on CL.

Around here I would $350 if you want it to move. IMO it may never sell here at $500.

Ok, great. From people I have talked to, they have also said between 400 and 450.

Thanks!

Triomphe. Fortunately. Victory has the often problematic self-extracting crank bolts.

Zombie, I know, but I'm a Mookie Blaylock fan. Trae Young, too. Both great Sooner/Hawk point guards.
