Early 80's Miyata value?

Hi, I'm new to this site and have a question regarding a miyata 100 I'm looking to buy from eBay. https://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewi...id=55500023992

I looked up the S.N. and I think it's a 1983 model. https://www.miyatacatalogs.com/2007/1...-1983.html?m=1

He's selling it without several components though (Does not includes the wheels , skewers , tires , tubes , chain , freewheel and pedals)

Is 200$ a fair price considering what I'll have to put into it?

This will likely get moved to the appraisal forums, but I would say no - not worth $200. Mind you I absolutely love my 110, and that bike sure is pretty, but the price seems steep for a repaint without wheels.

The price is probably fair considering what the seller may have into it. But it can be difficult for a seller to get a good return on a repaint, considering what you would need to invest in needed parts and assembly time/labor. In the end you could easily invest $300-$400 into a bike thats worth $250-$350 depending on the build. That said.......I think the frame is of reasonable quality but I think you can do better for your $200 plus $55 shipping.

I have a miyata related question too: would you pay $250 for a fair quality 312 with working components?

That seems reasonable, assuming the drivetrain is in as good of condition as the frame appears to be in this pic. I would want to negotiate a bit - but from the example I ride, Miyata makes a mighty fine bicycle.

Fuggedaboutit. At $255 delivered minus wheelset, the 100 is well overpriced IMHO. In January, I picked up a clean mid 1980's 110 complete bike, blue/yellow/white for $99.00, which was asking price. It was bought to flip, as I already have a Team Miyata with full Dura Ace. Both shown in "as purchased" condition.

As to the 312, if it's recently been serviced and ready to ride, that's within 10-15% of FMV. It's that ugly blue bar tape, rusty pole, and bad photos that makes that bike look unappealing.
