80's Bianchi with Ishiwata 022 CrMo and Nuovo Record

I am on the road for work, and have been trawling CL for bikes. I am heading home tomorrow and this bike caught my attention. I am thinking its a Bianchi Professional, not sure on the size, but what really caught my eye was the Nuovo Record Rear Derailleur and DT shifters. The price is way high, in my opinion, for a japanese made Bianchi, but if those are Nuovo Record should I make an offer on this bike? If so something along the lines of 200-250?

I think the seller can do at least 30% better than $250 in a hot Denver market, but good luck.

This is a real Fankenbike. The frameset appears to be a circa 1982 Bianchi Professional, as the Limited would have had exposed brake mounting nuts and a painted fork crown. Pics are really poor and it's hard to positively identify any other components though the hubs do appear to be Campagnolo Record. The calipers look they may be Nuovo Gran Sport. Poor set-up, crappy saddle and extremely short stem. You could play the tubulars as a negative. It looks to about 58 cm. I don't know if you'll get it for that low in Denver. I'm thinking $300-$350.

Clearly, I am still learning on how to value bikes.

I feel like there are a lot bikes that are either slipping through the cracks due to terrible presentation or just due to the sheer volume of bikes that are popping up. I mean there is a '88 Trek 400 in light blue with yellow decals for $250 that just been sitting. There is an '86 Trek 760 or 770 with Dura Ace components for $200. I feel like these are good bikes that are sitting, and either I am overvaluing them or the market is bottoming out.

The dura ace trek is a steal!

That Trek is an AMAZING deal. If it were within driving distance of me I would have it now. If you want to buy it and ship it to me I think I could still do ok :p

IMO the Bianchi is priced too high. Setup is terrible, the thing needs to be completely torn down and rebuilt properly.

With that in mind, I just sent him an email. The bike is up in the mountains, where it is snowing twice as bad as it is snowing here. Hopefully, he responds and I can check it out later this week.

Triple WOW on that Trek.
