Raleigh Lenton Sports 1970s?
Hey everyone.
I'm looking for a little help figuring out a fair price on this bike... the bit of information I could find on the Lenton line was that the Grand Prix was a decent bike, but that otherwise, they're nothing at all special since they were resurrected in the 70's. Here is a link to the advert: http://ottawa.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-se...AdIdZ482223974 The other post I found pertaining to Lentons in the 70's: http://www.bikeforums.net/archive/in.../t-440668.html This guy is asking $325... the post above leads me to believe it is worth $50... opinions? |
if everything is %100 rideable as is, wheels are true, tires, cables, & housings are new (they dont look new), shifting is flawless, maybe $100 tops. no way id pay $300 or more for it.
whats up with the crank? there is a deraileur there so Id assume there are 2 chainrings. the chain is not around the largest one so there must be a second one but I cant see it at all. maybe it has a 52 tooth and a 51 tooth ring?? not very efficient. |
thank you for posting. this is an interesting machine to see. i owned a lenton sports from the late 1940's; quite a different machine!
hope you are able to post additional detail... |
