I think this is a little high. Have you done a SheldonBrown.com search?
Looked at ebay for comps?

The only bike on ebay.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Mari...item3cd1e42eb2

The only frame on ebay.

Still think she's a little high. I would pay $500-600 with the Shimano 105.

Ack! No Sheldon value! I set my budget for bike shopping at $500, or thereabouts, but she's so much nicer than a lot of whats out there!

Agree. Basically, it's an SL frame plus $100 worth of parts.

I have to agree, it is a great looking bike but the price should be closer to $500. Considering the condition 350 might be a tad low

Exactly. Price is way too high.

Condition is clearly not mint, as the seller claims. Virtually no vintage bikes are ever in mint condition.

Thanks guys, I've got to get into more of a 'wary buyer' mindset. Bike hunting in Vancouver seems quite expensive though.

I am always leery of someone claiming "so and so" hand painted, rode, or owned a bike. CL sellers will say anything to get a few hundred extra out of a naive seller.

I think it is the Vancouver market. Prices seem crazy up there

However, in this case it's almost certainly true. This was the period when Marinoni was phasing himself out of framebuilding but kept his hand in the business by doing all the painting.

As pointed out, Vancouver is an extremely high priced market. Still, that'stoo high priced. I'd say it's worth about $600 in that market.

That's a good point. There are certainly bikes on CL that have a high pedigree. I am still building knowledge, so when I see a bike that is decent, and someone claims something that seems too good to be true I assume it is. It's like when a post says professionally maintained, but the pictures show a bike with a dislodged chain, an inch of dust and an asking price $200 too high.
