newbie, need some help with value of miyata
found this bike i like on craigslist, wondering if its a fair price and (here is where the noob starts) how do i tell that it is a miyata?

Seems genuine. I think it's worth the asking price, but make sure it fits you well before buying.

A higher end Miyata might have an M pantographed somewhere. I'd say the fork crown but maybe not on a later bike like that with the sloping crown. Looks late 80s-early 90s maybe. You must know about the Miyatacatalogs.com website, right? Also their serial number system is very clear, with an initial letter standing for the year, with A starting in 1972 (I think). In the other forum there's a whole thread on the topic, but it's pretty simple.
I guess the idea of pulling the decals off that bikewas to make it look more stealthy but with Dura-Ace that's not an urban ninja bike anyway!
