Immaculate Concorde Colombo - slick racing tires

Hello All -

I have a family heirloom, that I am looking to find out its value - a white perfect Concorde Colombo - with perfect Shimano 600 gear set and racing slicks. Original paint, stickers, paint. Like new.
How much is this thing worth? Looking for a good home.
Grazie

Slick bike. But, this belongs in the appraisals forum. They'll help you there.

Too many questions. Where are you located, where are you planning to sell it (C/L, ebay, whatever)? And if ebay, are you an experienced seller with pristine feedback and the ability and willingness to properly package and ship a bike at a reasonable cost?

Half of a bike's "value" in my experience depends on your ability to market the bike. Most bikes I see selling go for below market price. Its a lot of work to get market value or close on nicer bikes.

Around here, on nice bikes like yours, local sales go for about HALF of market value. Great as a buyer, lousy as a seller.

Absolutely - knowing the value of something and then being able to sell it to its proper $ value is not a problem - .. thin is I'm not 100% sure of its value - from the photos her - it truly is 100% (well, ok 95%) - everything, brakes, gears, tires, and paint quality are 95% perfect - I just need a $number to know what to stick to when i post it locally in Canada.
Thanks

Wow, great looking bike!

She is a stunner. Great paint job and in immaculate condition as you mentioned, both pluses. The Shimano 600 Tri color is a very nice group and very dependable , so that's also a plus, as are the tires, bar tape, saddle and stem. Looks NOS from the pics.

The only drawback, although some might not think so, is the tubing. Columbus Tre Tubi Aelle is not very high on the Columbus list and not very sought after or expensive. Nice ride, but a bit on the heavy side.

So, I'll say $600 on the high side, $350 on the low. If your lucky, somebody that just has to have a Concorde might be willing to fork over big bucks for this near mint example. Otherwise, that Aelle tubing might come into play and keep the price down.

But I'm no expert, just trying to become one!

So let's see what the real experts say...

Toronto, small frame for the huge, but short Asian population, nice condition. I'd try $499 list, and be happy in the mid $400s.

I am in Toronto and sold one of these a couple of summers ago for $370. I'd try for $450 and be happy with $400. It is in great shape and it is a popular size so you will have that going for you. Use both Craigslist and Kijiji and raise the seat and lower the stem to give it a racier look.

+1, I'm thinking in the $400 range for Yorktown. Nice size, very good condition, (nostly) great components but tretubi Aelle is a bit in no-man's lad for bicycle buyers. Most people wanting to buy a good bicycle are looking for a better grade tubeset. Also, the Look pedals may be a issue for some buyers as they'll have to buy shoes/cleats. Most people who have the shoes/cleats already have a bicycle of a least that level and would be interested in as a n+1 bicyclke, only if it was a real deal.
