I've always rode very cheap bikes because I'm cheap. I ride for the workout, not a timed race. My last bike was a Huffy that I got at a garage sale for $10 and although it was too small for me, I've put over a thousand trouble free miles on it and I liked the bike other than the handle bars being too low.

Now that my son is big enough to ride it, it's his. I was considering a "nice bike" but I refuse to pay $400 for an entry level new bike. I came across a local dealer that has a NOS, never assembled Nishinski Sport. He said it's about 10 years old and he'd sell it to me for $200. I'm going to take a quick ride on it this week but I know nothing about it. Is it worth $200? I have no idea what components are on it, it was in a box when I looked at it. The only other thing I know about it is it's green/white in color.

Any help would be appreciated.

You don't get much road bike for $200, so if it fits and you enjoy it, go for it. Nishiki is a good value brand, not a lot of cache, but decent build quality.

Not 10 years old. Nishiki totally folded in 2001.

Myself, the Sport is really basic. I would pass.
