Schwinn Paramount PDG Series 3

Is this bike worth $319 (on eBay) plus shipping? I do not know much about the later Paramounts. I also know nothing about the component set. The bike looks well used - which isn't bad as long as it has a long life left. I believe the size will be good. thank you Nice used SCHWINN PARAMOUNT PDG SERIES 3 Road Bicycle. It has Shimano components (RX100) and Icon pedals. The chain need to be put back on and it need some air in the tires as it has been sitting in the garage for several years. The stand-over height is about 30.75" - from the center of the crank to the top of the top tube is 20.75".

1991 model. Wheelset mismatched, saddle in poor condition. $400 with shipping doesn't feel like a bargain with these issues. And you already have a great fleet.

Ridiculous price by the time you add shipping, given condition. Rust on fasteners, rusty cables, mismatched wheels as the Oracle pointed out, lousy pictures. I picked one up off ebay for myself for $230 shipped, and it was in pristine condition. I thought that was a pretty decent deal.

One in very nice condition sold last month for $250 plus $100 shipping. But that bike had matching wheels, was 10X cleaner, etc. Mismatched wheels to me is a red flag, particularly if I can't inspect in person. Crashed, lost, or stolen? You decide. Even if it is one of the last two, I would have to get matching wheels on the bike, and that is more expense.

PASS.

$400? More like $100-150 for that pile. My friend picked up the same bike in very good original condition for $150, but that was a very good deal.

Thank you. It felt a little high. Looking for a nice replacement for my Premis. Cool bike but doesn't fit. Love the vintage Paramounts.

Any of the series Paramounts would make a worthy replacement for your Premis. Schwinn tended to under-equip the series Paramounts, compared to the framesets. My theory is that they did not want to put pressure on the Waterford Paramounts. I have several series Paramounts right now, all from 1992 as luck would have it. The higher models were made by Panasonic in Japan, a selling point to me.

PDG Series bikes had nice frames. But note that they are not what most people are referring to when talking about a "Schwinn Paramount", and do not have anywhere close to the collector value.
