Peugeot PZ14 - Need help with determining value.
Hi, there is that guy close to Montreal that has 2 (yes TWO) brand new, never seen the road, 1990 Peugeot PZ14 for sale, one is 51cm, the other one is 54cm. I never heard of that model before and can't find much info online. Anybody knows how high quality that bike can be? How much should I offer?
Here's the picture of the smaller one, the other one is exactly the same he told me :

Canadian models don't necessarily match US or French spec bikes. You might google Peugeot and Columbus together and see what you get. Does he want $900 for the pair or each?
Ebay closed sales show the Sante Group and wheelset can bring about $400 used.
The rainbow graphics indicate a mid 1980's bike more likely than a 1990.

see post # 15664, been available at least since Nov. 2012. $1300 back then.

Are you buying to ride it or display it? NOS bike stuff sells at a hefty premium, 2 to 3X or more. The moment you ride it, it is no longer NOS. So if you are buying to ride, I would buy something gently used rather than NOS.

Yeah I know I don't think I'll ride it if it really is NOS.

$900.00 for a Canadian made Peugeot is crazy, NOS or not! That, of course, is my opinion. For the pair, yes. Singly - $500.00 each would be pushing it but possible.

At the end of the day, its a midgrade bike. $900 is stupid crazy price wise. In normal, lightly ridden condition, $350. Add a premium for NOS, but again, first time you ride it, guess who loses that premium.
I build bikes to ride, and consciously AVOID NOS. When I do come across NOS bits, I put them on fleecebay where people love to pick up NOS bits, and pay top $ for them. I figure a 25 year old bike does not need NOS bits (except consumables). The sale of one NOS part can often pay for 3 or 4 copies of the same piece, in used condition.
Now if I was filling up a display case, sure, I would want some NOS stuff.
