Trek 620

Just snagged this Trek 620 off Craigslist for $240 talked down from $300. It's the 64cm size, either 84 or 85. Almost all original save the Tektro brake calipers. Did I do good or overpay? Also, I'm thinking of ridding the Huret Sachs in favor of a Tiagra derailleur, 8 speed cassete and throwing on some 700c wheels. Will this depreciate its value?

Can't see any pictures, but the price sounds reasonable. I doubt updating it a bit would depreciate it, but are you planning on keeping it? If so, don't worry about it, just enjoy it.

You stole it! The 620 goes for $400+ on ebay. Anything you take off the bike should be kept to be reinstalled should you wish to sell it. The SH Duopar is well regarded by several BF members.

I can tease too! My 1985 620 is a 56cm or 58cm. I do need to switch out the saddle and bars. I also have the following: 1984 520, 1986 520 Cirrus, 1988 360. Also have a bonded 1996 1220, which I will sell one of these days, needs brifter help.

Just picked up a lugged True Temper 1991 Trek 990 MTB w/o the wheels, dayglo orange/black fade, full Deore XT!

You did pretty good if the bike is in great condition...but you do know that bigger frames usually sell for a bit less than more regular/popular sizes (from 52 to 58cm)....so it's good you got it discounted down from the original $300 price....

Jeez, your orig Matrix rims look a lot better than mine do. Your labels aren't completely illegible!
