Just panicked and bought this off of the bay. Does it look normal to everyone,, besides the repaint.

Bianchigirll 08-16-13 06:14 PM

Does it actually say Rossin on the stay caps?

I don't think so, I noticed that too. But it does have the other markings that look legit.

Actually, it looks like it might

Double bottle mounts and brazed on FD mount does not seem to go with the brazed on cable guides on top of the BB.
Looks like the frame got some brazed on updates when it was re-painted.....
The smooth sloped crowned fork kinda confuses me though, could it be an update/replacement??

zukahn1 08-16-13 09:58 PM

+1 Based the likely new show chrome and guality of the repaint it is fairly likely some of the brazons where done also.

Am I the only one who finds it interesting that the rear fork has eyelets, and front fork's missing them?

Ratherbesailing 08-16-13 11:07 PM

Lol. I'm glad this wasn't too spendy

zukahn1 08-16-13 11:24 PM

This is pretty typical of mid level dropouts nothing realy interesting.

Ratherbesailing 08-16-13 11:50 PM

That's what it sounds like.lo oh well, a columbus frame I can paint. I just wanted to make sure no one cited structural dmg or authenticity issues

IthaDan 08-17-13 06:15 AM

What'd you pay for it? Because that's what it's worth.

Ratherbesailing 08-17-13 06:56 AM

That's exactly what I paid

b dub 08-17-13 12:24 PM

Should make a nice rider. Fair score.

The paint and chrome actually look pretty good why would you want to repaint?

Ratherbesailing 08-17-13 01:01 PM

Get cutesy with colors. Black with gold hubs and such. Or who knows. Something to play with in the future. A bike that should ride nice that I don't have to worry about ruining continuity.

I think the blue with just stock bruished silver naked alloy component wise and white excerories bar wrap seat with red cables would look great on the blue frame. Chessy red, white, blue and chrome an American classic.
