Bianchi Reparto Corse?

Hi everyone!

I was looking on my local craigslist for some used bianchi bikes and came across the following one: https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv...027307646.html

I have very little experience with cycling, so I need some help.

(1) Could someone please help me identify what bike (year and model) this is? I tried searching it on bikepedia, but I couldn't find anything.

(2) What would be an acceptable valuation for this bike?

(3) The bike seems to have thicker tires. Would it be possible to put those thin road bike tires (I think people refer to them as the 700c's?). Also is this a road or cyclocross bike?

Sorry for my inexperience and most likely my very amateur questions. Thanks in advance for your assistance!

1. The bike is a mid level model from around 2000 or so based on the components.

2. The bike is priced way to high I would say only $500-600 in value.

3. The bike already has 700c road wheels on it so it would be easy to change the current cross tires. Based on the canti brakes and geomtry the bike a little more cyclcross than road orianted.

I like the bike but I'm skeptical that it's worth $1k. You can get a new bianchi zurigo cross bike with a warranty and put together by a bike shop for $1600. Not quite apples to apples as the 2 bikes have different tubing and components. The bike has 700c wheels; it has fatter tires because it is a cross bike but you should be able to put 28c tires on it (and perhaps even narrower depending on the rims) no problem. Frankly a cross bike is a great choice since it has a little more forgiving gearing than most road bikes and the little wider tires are for many applications a plus. There are folks here who can give you a better idea of what the bike is worth but, for comparison's sake, you can pick up a steel surly cross bike complete (and new) for $1200 or so. https://www.universalcycles.com/shopp...&category=3296
Or you could pick up a new bianchi zurigo cross for $1600: https://www.bianchiusa.com/bikes/off-road/zurigo/

That is a Cyclocross bike and it was likely built from the frame up. The decals look like '99/00ish but the little Blue sticker on the top tube may tell much more.

A Bianchi Reporto Corse is not a modle but the cream of the crop of bikes that come from a special handish built frame shop. They normall come as frame, frame/fork or sometimes a complete bike. They are usually very nice frame but I agree this one look to have a mishmash (not that is bad) of midlevel parts.

The model name for the frame/fork only was Cyclo MegaPro L .

I agree this seems over priced. Depending how much use and or abuse it has seen $500 might be a good deal
