Lotus Cyclone
Hello
I am looking for a road bike to ride around in the city as I hate traffic. I do not know anything about bikes, except that they have two wheels. The last time I road one was 5 years ago. My budget is about $300. I am looking to ride it about 15-20 miles a day for work. I am 5'8 with a 31 inch inseam, so I am thinking of a 52-54 cm bike.
I am in the Philadelphia area, and this is one bike that I found on craigslist :
https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/bik/4069066100.html
What do you guys think ? What is this really worth in your opinion ? Notice at the end the advertisement says the rims have damage.
Thank you.

"It could use a bike shop tune up, which is reflected in price"
I'd beg to differ with that statement. $300 seems pricey for that bike, especially if its in need of work(rim/tuneup)

I would guess you more as a 54-55. Jump on the bridgestone if its still available, # is posted. The nashbar is quite similar to the cyclone, but I still would want it in the $150-$200 range.

try to get the rack with it
Posted 8/20, so if it's still available he might drop a bit, say $100-$120. Tires appear to be rather old, you may not be able to replace the tube w/o cracking the tire.
Niagara Cycle is my fav online, you can get decent tires for under $10 each(don't forget a set of tire levers too)
*edit* just noticed the bar end shifters, you'll really like having them, huge plus over stem or downtube mounted shifters

Thanks. A lot of the bikes I'm seeing are vintage Raleigh's. What is in general the value of one of these bikes, if it's ready to ride?

Still learning
Age,condition, model, size, and your location, all factor into pricing.
