Hello,

I'm planning to buy a fixie and would like to know how much you guys think these bikes are worth.

Thank you!

Neither classic or vintage, nor can info be gleaned from the pics.

Don't see anything of value. Steel cottered crankset, suicide brake levers, low-end centerpull brakes and cheap, vulgar coloured rims. Nothing I would take even someone offered to give it to me. But the pics don't help.

Maybe the fixie single speed forum can be more helpful.

Not much. Several of the "conversion" jobs are borderline awful. At a minimum, I'd expect a single speed flip-flop hub on a conversion, not simply a removed derailleur and a shortened chain.

As a rule, conversions are worth far less than the sellers of them seem to think they are. I can't see much of what is going on in the first pic, but I'd steer clear of pics 2 and 3 unless they're >100$. The bikes in the first pic look like cheap "track" bikes that have flooded the market; these can be had from bikesdirect and other sources new for 250-400.

https://www.bikesdirect.com/products/dawes/sst_steel.htm

On most of those, I'd say top of the market for a used one should be about 60% of BD pricing; figure 150 tops, maybe more for better components, and I'm not seeing them on the bikes you picture.

+1 on bikes direct. Get a kilo TT and call it a day.

Agree that most conversions are over valued, and often done with the intent of quick profit.

+2 If your looking for a basic messenger style SS/FG your better off getting a new proper one for $250 or so or a late model one used for $150 ther starting to show second hand fairly regulary on GL. As for the value on these bikes $75 or so for the conversion and $100 or so for the low end SS/FG.

The last of the three has a chance of having been an interesting road bike at one point.

I'd buy the trek with bullhorns for $125.

+1. Kilo TT has it's own fan club for a reason. Pretty sure it's what you're looking for.
