Campagnolo Record 8s cassette
Are these really worth $300 in real life?

I found one while cleaning out my bike stuff, 12-23, new in the box. cs-8sr, alloy cassette. I thought the box was empty, it's that light.

Very slightly used.
Check sales history, as this is asking price, not sold price. Plus, just about any nos Campy item on ebay is "silly" priced it seams.
It's making it very easy for me to switch over to modern 10/11 speed systems.

I realize that is the asking price, and it hasn't sold, but a Google search does reveal that a true cs-8sr is a rare bird. Campyoldy.com says £110, which is about $175.

I don't bother with nos anymore, but I am a bit of a cheapskate.
There are plenty of folks that require nos for a special build.

Not realy since its just a basic 8speed cassette that only plays well with some pretty specific 8spd Campy stuff. I would guess a realistic price on it is around $75. Yet in the wonky land of Campy nos ebay three or four times that may be possible on a international sale with severl bidders.

I have not seen the alloy/steel cassette before.
I bought a later ti 8 speed cassette and learned that I needed the EXA style freehub to mount it on. As the ti cassette was such a good deal, I found a few months later a good deal on an EXA spline 8 speed hub. By the looks of it the EXA has the same profile as the 9/10/11 bodies. With a different width I think. I have never had the chance to check. Lockring may be different too.
