1953? Rudge Whitworth New Elizabethan Pair
So, I hope I'm doing this right. My grandmother has been cleaning out the house a little bit since my grandfather passed a couple months ago and she recently found this pair (boy's and girl's) of Ridge Whitworth New Elizabethan bikes. I'm not sure what year they're from, I'm assuming it's whatever year that Queen Elizabeth was crowned.
Here's the information I gleaned from looking over them for a few minutes:
Both have Sturmey-Archer 3spd gears
Boy's has Terry seat
Girl's has Brooks seat, some kind of bag, and a manual
I'm not sure how well they ride, I didn't try getting on it. I could hear the sound of rubber on metal as I rolled the bike. Barring some reason not to, I would clean the bikes and break them down and get them lubed up right before I sold them.
Here's a link to the pictures I took. Keep in mind that these pictures are for reference only, the bikes are still coated in dust from sitting for the last 40-odd years.

Thanks!

The Sturmey Archer hubs will have date codes stamped on them somewhere, you can look for those to determine the age of the bikes.
