Nitto Crystem Blue (Red)

Recently I acquired what I believe to be a Nitto Crystem Blue only in the 4 bolt Red cap version. According to Velobase.com, this Red capped 4 bolt version was designed for mountain bikes, but it would sure look good on a vintage road bike too.

Anyone have an idea what this may be worth? The road version, blue cap with 3 bolts was reputed to be quite rare. I might also point out that some of the four cap bolts and the long stem bolt are not original, I had to locate suitable replacements of the same size.

Any info would be appreciated, thanks,

Sam

I have a Crystemblue in the three bolt that's on a Lotus Aero Pro that I'm restoring.

Yes, they're rare and go for some serious dollars when they show up. I've never or heard of the red version before, VERY cool! .. if it were mine I certainly wouldn't let it go cheap, although it's condition and non original bolts might hurt the resale. Nitto is producing the standard Crystem but it's not the same as the first generation single bolt, which is extremely rare.:

Good find!

Scott
