1980? Schwinn Super Le Tour
 

I have what I believe to be a 1980 Schwinn Super Le Tour and I want to know how much it's worth. I have looked up the serial number everywhere but had no luck finding anything.
The serial number is SD930458
Here is a picture of it. The picture isn't great. Also the faceplate says Chicago on it and has the original screws that hold it on instead of rivets. So I am assuming it was made there.

BTW I got the bike from my uncle and he said he got it in the 80's so that's where that decade comes from and if it matters at all the serial number is found on the left rear dropout. It's an Xtra-lite model and it's a 12-speed.

Le Tour and Super Le Tour serial numbers in 1979-80 (the only years they were actually made in Chicago) include the letter "S" with a production month letter followed by a series of numbers, the first one telling the year of production. SD9xxxxx indicates that the frame was built in April 1979, making it most likely a 1979 model Super Le Tour II. Specifications can be found here, and this is the catalog page:

Check the headbadge for a 4-digit number stamp, which will indicate the actual day the bike was built.

As for the value I'd say anywhere from $100 to maybe $250 depending on the condition and originality, and I can't tell much about that from your picture.

I'd say $150 max. Not high end enough to be worth more than that. Listed at 28lbs in the catalog page...

Aren't Le Tours chrome moly? I thought the internet told me all the Schwinn US made lugged chrome moly frames were made in the Greenville Mississippi plant. I thought one of the reasons they built that plant was to manufacture these frames because they could not economically update the Chicago plant to do it.

The '79-'80 Chicago-built Le Tours were 18ga 1020 carbon steel tubing that was "torch brazed". The '83 and later Greenville-built Le Tours were chrome-moly.
