Cannondale 2.8Alum ser Racing 1000 With MAVIC Grouptset??

Hey guys,

I have this yellow and black Cannondale 2.8 Aluminum series Racing 1000
This thing is fully equipped with a Mavic Groupset
F/R Derail
Drop tube shifters
Brake set and levers
Scott Handle bars with the curve in at the end of the drops
Mavic stem and clipless pedals
Crank Hubs and rims

Everything full mavic, this thing is beautiful and have never seen something like it.

Can't find anything on it. looks like early 90's

Help!?

Yes we do need to see some pics on this is one I have never seen a Mavic groupset on a Canondale. If it's in good shape it is likely a very nice bike. Canondales do tend to draw pretty good a value sell well in most markets.

Nice looking ride in VG condition. On ebay, my guess is $500-$750. Locally, you'd be doing well at $500.

Well definetitly a very cool Canondale in a better market locall I could see one getting $450-500 locally if you have patience it may take several months or better to sell at good value. The 2.8 frame and mavic stuff nail it as late 80's which is pretty cool the late 80's Canondals where the first of the truely modern styled aluminium road bikes and are nearly timeless 25 years later. Some of the near originasl are still raced at the ametuer level.

$350 would be the top around here too.

I'd probably part this one out on ebay. I bet there are people looking for those Mavic parts, and that frame, but I suspect the chances of finding someone looking for that frame with those components is quite slim.

Edit to below: yes, it would feel wrong parting out this bike. But I honestly have no idea what I'd do with it otherwise.

Yes a quick strip of this bike would likely get top dollar for the Op but on this one it seems a little wrong. This is a great bike which one should consider leavint together.

1992 R1000 came stock w/ full Mavic, just for that one year. I have one, though it is dark blue.

Parting will fetch the most money, for sure. Shame because it is a great bike - light, fast, quick, unique.

That's a tough sell localy on CraigsList, in Tampa i'd be happy with $400. But I know that bike is worth a lot more is sold on a broader market. There's probably a Cannondale fanatic who would love to have that bike and is willing to pay $6-800 for it.

The value, as others have mentioned, is in the components. I'll part out just about anything but this bike may be an exception simple because it's such an obscure model from Cannondale.

I'd clean it up, tune it up and get fully functional and then sell it on ebay. 'Buy Now' of $950 w/ free shipping to the Continental U.S. After fees and shipping you'll walk with $800-ish. If you need a bike store to box it you'll walk with $750-ish.

100% with Jim on this one. Buy it now, immediate payment required, 30 day listing, and free shipping Continental USA. If you are not comfortable packing it, have a bike shop you trust do it.

You should net well over double a local sale this way.
