Looks like a Meteor. Rough as-is condition, $35-$50. I bought one a few years ago at the low end of the price range in better condition than the one above, reconditioned and cleaned it up and sold it for much more. As reconditioned below.

Looks to be an early 80's Low end Japanese made Puch. Nothing special basic High-ten frame with cheaper components. In rough condition bout $75 or so give or take. I had one a while back that got for free rebuilt as a single speed with a nice alloy wheels I sold it for $160. These do clean up nice and make good basic riders.

Sold it locally for $75 (craigslist). I posted it at 6:30am and had 3 people interested within 1.5 hours The people who bought it thought it was a great deal.

Good job! There are less knowledgeable buyers out there whom will pay more than the dedicated bike addicts on this board. If these buyers do their own maintenance and reconditioning they are ahead. Otherwise, they can easily spend $120 minimum + parts for a complete overhaul at the local bike shop. The addicts that know the level of work needed to bring a 20 + year old bike to safe and enjoyable riding condition and expect to pocket a few bucks by reselling to fund their own bike collection addiction, won't pay as much.

The people who bought it seemed very knowledgeable. They said they fix up bikes for a living and they knew this model of Puch right away. Also interesting was that the person who bought the matching 1964 Schwinns I sold recently brought them to these guys to fix up. Small world. Anyway, it seems to me that New Orleans is a strong bicycle market.

I think you did pretty good selling the bike as is fairly easy. Often times on bikes like this it just makes more since to sell them as is for a slightly cheaper price fairly easy than spend a lot of time effort and money only to get another $100 maybe $150 out of the bike. Which leaves you with more time to invest in more worth while bikes or pursuits.
