Team Miyata Rossin
I found this as a complete bicycle hanging in a pole barn. Owner said his son raced for Pepsi for a few years.
It was equipped with a mix of 8 speed Dura Ace and Campy Record, bottom bracket threading is right/right, dropouts are Campy 753.
The chrome is less than perfect and there is some bubbling of the paint in areas. It's been out in this barn enduring the Chicagoland winters for about 20 years. The Campy headset and BB looked surprisingly good.
It seems clear to me that it's a Rossin built frame with the panto'd seat stays and fork crown, dual right hand BB threads and "R" cutout in the BB shell, yet it has the Miyata spline triple butted decal.
I'd be interested in thoughts on a value and/or any other info that folks might be able to offer.

Nice score, Todd!

Near the end of this Rossin blog homepage, I found a 1982 Team Shimano, so apparently Rossin was building for other teams. I find it interesting that yours has the typical triple-butted Miyata Team/Pro tubing. I thought Rossin worked mainly in Columbus tubing, but I'm sure the experts will weigh in here.

Thanks bargainguy................my best guess is that the "spline triple butted" decal was part of the decal group and was installed regardless of the actual tubing used.

Right, but didn't Miyata "roll their own" tubing pretty much exclusively? So Miyata gave Rossin the tubing and said "have at" instead of having their own builders craft a frame. This assumes, of course, that the decals are original.

Purely speculation here, but, if a team had a main sponsor such as Pepsi, and Miyata was a lesser sponsor that may or may not have offered to provide frames, a team could run any frame they wanted as long as they flew the Miyata colors.

There was a pepsi miyata team; if you google it, you can find some racers from that team. You could e-mail them and ask about the bike they rode on the team. This is a neat find btw.

What's the seattube diameter? I find it odd that Miyata would have a bike they sponsored built by Rossin when they were more than capable of building themselves. I find it more likely that a team member might have had Rossin build him a bike camo'd as a Miyata, but I don't think we'll find that this is Miyata tubing.
The lugs and Fork crown don't look Miyata to me either. I think it's a Rossin with Miyata stickers/paint...probably SL.
As far as value...I really don't have a good feel and don't know Rossin well. Maybe $300 for just f/f?
