1967 Raleigh Sprite

Hello! I'm curious about the value of my '67 Raleigh Sprite. I picked it up on CL, and am getting concerned about reaching the value to upgrades tipping point. I'm not an experienced cyclist, so I apologize for the novice description.

It's in very good condition, no rust, though some of the decals are in poor shape. Comfy leather saddle. I had it tuned up when purchased, and did some fixes recently... it rides incredibly well.

- Rear hub overhauled
- Sturmey Archer 5 speed
-New brakes
-New wheels and tires
-Replaced crank arm and pedals

Thoughts?

I’m in the Denver area and a bike like yours would sell for around $150 to $200. You tend to not get much return for things like replacing wheels, cranks, etc. But ... it sounds like you got the bike to ride it and enjoy it. You have a neat vintage bike that you put into good working order. Something you made your own and certainly nicer than any bike you could have bought new for $200. Nice bike - enjoy the DC area bike trails!

If it is upgrades to a rider, I would stop worrying about resale value and base any upgrades based on what you intend the bike to do. I have two Peugeot UO variants; both have far more $ in upgrades than the bike's resale values. But they ride well and every upgrade suits the bikes' intended purpose.

Here in RVA, 125/150$, DC prolly a bit more.
