Takara Tribute Question
I have the 12 speed Takara Tribute, Frame: Tange 900 CR-MO Double butted, Dia-compe center pull brakes, Sakae Cranks, Suntour Derailer. Black in color looks and rides like new.
S/N CS500727 w/ 80 stamp under the S/N. I believe that should be the year of Mfg. I bought it new and I believe that's about the time I bought it. Just curious what it would be worth now, I might sell or trade it for another bike.
Thanks to all replies

A quick Google search turned up prices all over the place. Brand is not super desirable, Tange 900 is their lowest quality before Hi-Ten, if I'm not mistaken. You'd be lucky to get $150.00 for it so long as it is rideable. You said rides like new and I'll take your word on that, but unless it is sporting new rubber, a lot of folks will want a discount. Don't get me wrong, I've seen several Takara bikes and the workmanship is decent, but yours is lower level and just not in demand.

Well it is a basic slighlty better than entry level early 80's Japanese road bike from a lesser desired maker so it's worth only $150 at best in most markets if it is in true tuned and ready to ride condition. From experiance about half the buyers at this level expect to be able to ride the bike home as is.

I paid $170 for my Tribute last year. I believe it's an '82. I did not want to go that high but the seller would not come down any lower, and I had been looking for a long time for a frame small enough for me. This was in Madison WI where prices tend to be high. The bike was in pretty good cosmetic condition with some chips and scrapes; both tires were flat so I didn't test ride it first. The photo shows the bike when I first got it.
