1988 Schwinn Premis for a Short Rider

So I know there's a few threads out there about the Premis, but wondering if you guys can help me figure out if this potential Craigslist buy is worth it.

I found a completely stock (according to seller) '88 Schwinn Premis for $300. It appears to be in really good shape, but I haven't seen it in person. Some of the other threads I've checked out seem to suggest that many of you wouldn't pay that much for this bike, but a couple things to keep in mind - I'm in Minneapolis, so there's a pretty good market for road bikes. Second - I'm only 5'2", and there are very, very few quality bikes that pop up in my size. So my options are limited.

I'm currently riding an '85 Fuji that I converted to a SS as my only bike, and I'm thinking some gears would be nice. With all that in mind, does this seem like a good purchase? I'm attaching the craigslist post and the pictures for reference.

There is some debate re: smaller bike value but when I have a 48-50cm bike like this one, folks your height, especially women want it and say exactly what you say.

I could not sell a 58cm Premis for $300 where I live, a Schwinn Circuit indeed. Tenax Schwinns are good riders. If it's in good shape and fits go with the advice of odd. Try for less, buy and have fun.

Yep. I wouldn't take less than 300 in this size. $250 in a more regular size, $200 in mine (62).

Thanks for the help. I went ahead and got it - it fits perfectly! The people who were selling it were the original owners and everything's in good shape. Needs a tune up but so far it's a pretty fun ride.

I would say in the small size with nice paint excellent cosmetics and the original white components which add a $100-150 premium to a bike like this in most markets you got a good deal.
