what year is my cinelli and its value?
My father died last year and I have his old triathlon bike. Its all original I believe he got it used around 83 or 84 but I'm not sure. my brother wants to sell it but I want to keep it so if some one could give me a value id be able to buy my brother out. Any help will be appreciated thanks.

Condolences about your Dad. You need better pics of the drive side and components. The more the better.

First of all, I'm sorry for your loss. There are lots of us who are getting up there a bit ourselves and have gone through that or close to it. Holding onto something that your loved one really was attached to can be a way of keeping that connection...I have a few things of my dad's that I would not part with.
Others are more knowledgeable and may be able to tell more from that picture, but all I can say is: it looks intriguing, but we need more and better pictures. It looks intriguing because it is clearly a quality road bike. The lugged construction, downtube shifters, other details show that. Also: no kickstand!
It looks to have chromed lugs which is an 'extra' feature some brands had. I would say it's from the 1970s but I wonder if it has been repainted, as there's no sign of decals that would show the maker/brand. Also that color doesn't look 70s. If you can take closeup pictures showing details like: the shifters, the derailleurs, brakes, wheel hubs, the cranks, and the front of the bike, that would be helpful. Also the bottom of the bottom bracket (center of the frame) might provide a clue. Obviously if there are any identifying marks that would be helpful.
Be aware that even a very good vintage road bike in good condition is something that sells for hundreds, not thousands of dollars...with a few exceptions, but not many.
Pretty much anyone on this forum is going to say good for you for keeping the bike.

from what can be seen in the photo machine appears to be a Bianchi rather than a Cinelli. the fork crown and the integral headset both say "Bianchi." frame and most of the fittings look to be well before the suggested date.
forum will be able to assist you much better with additional (and higher res) pictures.
calling Bianchigirll.

Buy your brother out? I can dig it. But I don't care for it much.
If he was my brother I'd tell him he can have something else of dad's. I'm keeping the bike.

Bianchi, could be it. Modified too. My guess is that the water bottle mounts are rivnuts and done about the time the clip less pedals were fitted.
A nice bike. Some value, but more sentimental than speculative.
If it fits I would arrange to keep it and have something to remember Dad with.

incazzare.
Cable clips, over the BB cable guide, band on shifters... This says late 60's or early 70's to me. It's been repainted and modified (water bottle bosses), probably in the 80's. No idea on if it's a Cinelli or a Bianchi or something else.

Removing a waterbottle cage would answer if it was repainted or not, I am voting rivuts and original paint.
