cofused about 90's navara metro?
I just got this navaro metro and i am confused as to who made this and what it might be worth?
Some places say this was only made for rei. Others say that navara was pre rei it's own brand. Just to make matters even more confusing still others say these were made by giant.
I have seen these in mint condition on ebay for $250. This seems a bit on the high side? If that were the cse then this one in say fair condition would be worth about$100? Seems way high to me.
Can some one please shed some light on who made this and what it might be worth in todays market?

i do think novarra started out independant in the 80's. but it eventually got bought out by REI and became their "in-house" brand. i believe yours would be under the REI years. it probably would have been made by giant, as i think giant has always made REI's bikes.
$40-75 seems right to me. but i have no taste for those hybrid type bikes, so some might pay more.

Four things:
1) remove the groovy seat cover
2) get the rust discoloration off of the chain (various, labor intensive ways to do that) - or throw a new chain on there
3) remove Shimano freewheel, and similarly remove all signs of rust - reassemble.
4) replace handlebar end plugs
With good photos and a description that rightly claims that all works as originally intended, I'd bet you could get a quick $125 for it.
