Eddy Merckx: What model?
Hi!
I am wondering if someone could please help me identify this Eddy Merckx bike: Model and year of production? It has a Reynolds 653 frame, Shimano Dura Ace and Shimano 600 components. Condition is mint. Price: 600 Dollars.
Thank you!
Gabriel

Corsa's and Corsa Extra's were both available in 653.
Under-the-BB cable routing and top tube cable guides generally mean production somewhere between 1982 and 1988.
Serial numbers might help, but no guarantee.

Bikes: No-name LH drive track. Also ride an Exxon Graftek, a Masi, a Trek R200 or a RR Boneshaker for fun!

Agree with the above info, I think the price a bit high unless you REALLY want the bike and it fits you.

Thank you! I have a feeling that this Merckx was probably made in the very late 80s. Could it maybe be a ladies edition? The size is very small, 48 cm, and the pink color is maybe a bit too feminine. I am only 1.63, so I think this bike will be perfect. It is in a absolutely mint condition, not even one little scratch. The Reynolds 653 is a rather rare frame, so it is hard to find a lot of information about it online. I have just bought this bike and have not tried it yet myself, but I would like to know more about it and I will of course check the serial number too.
BTW: I live in Berlin, Germany.
