1988 Specialized Sirrus with 105 all around for 125

Hey Guys,

Finally got around to buying a steel frame bike on craigslist for every day use. It is a 1988 Specialized Sirrus (I think, decals have been taken off) and has shimano 105 sis components all around. It is in excellent condition. Chain looks new, tires look new, shifts well, brakes well, every thing was ready to go.

I paid $125 and the seller had a guy that contacted him after me wanting to pay $140 however he honored the fact that I was the first to respond to the ad. Let me know how you think I did. Here is a picture of the bike...
Kind of hard to see the condition of the bike in the picture but maybe I'll take better pictures later. This was the picture from the ad.

Thanks!

That will be a excellent rider esp for the money-- 105 of that era is rock solid. Even with unknown manufacturer that looks like an easy double if you need to sell, maybe a bit more in some markets. I would keep it though as it looks to be in great shape.

Well I think it's definitely a specialized sirrus. It has the S engraved at the top of the seat stays, it's just not visible in the pictures. It has wobbler rims, 105 components all around including brakes and has the original paint. The color scheme I think was for models between 1987-1989 but the decals were taken off so I'm not exactly sure which year. So it's not really a mystery bike just don't know the exact year. Either way if it was made in 1988 like I suspect, the details are all here... and
The components for the sirrus look like an exact match so I'm assuming thats what I've got.

I like it w/out the decals for sure, it looks like a 60cm?, for 125 I would have grabbed that in a flash for myself if local. Similar size/era specialized last year on area CL, about 2 hour drive each way for me though so never looked at it but sat for 250 for some time. I would say underappreciated but well worth keeping.

Yea, the biggest sizes the bike came in were 58cm and 61cm. So I am pretty sure its a 58 but I haven't measured yet just know that it fits better than any other bikes I have ridden and I'm 6'0" with a 34" inseam. I am really happy with the purchase.
