Trek Singletrack 950 frame?

hey, i got a left over almost mint condition trek frame, what is the bare frame worth out the door, i decided to sell it on cl since the full bike goes for 799 mint whole so i have heard.

No scratches dings or rust, has sat under a apartment garage for ay least a year undriven, then was stripped by a theif then one day i saw the owner/complex manager throwing it in the trash, so i grabbed it not knowing it once was a 799 dollar bike.

All the cables for the shifter and gears are still there.

Brake hardware still there, but no pads.

I think that the $ you end up selling it for is what it will be worth. It's like the house selling market. An appraisal is worth the paper it's printed on. The market determine the real value. This value will vary depending who's selling what and who's looking to buy what. Andy.

Trek 950 Singletrack framesets are selling for $50 - $60 on ebay.

Example: This one went for $49.91 with six bids.

It depends - what year is the 950. There are three different series that I am aware of for the 900 series up thru 1995 - I do not know beyond that.

1989-1991 - lugged, brazed double butted True Temper cro-mo; bottom pull FD - desirable.
1992-1993 - lugged, brazed double butted True Temper cro-mo, larger diameter tubes, thinner walls, FEM optimized; top pull FD - most desirable. Last of the lugged and brazed 900 series Trek MTBs.
1994-1995 - TIG welded double butted True Temper cro-mo - not as desirable as the lugged frames.

Value; this year I have purchased at 1994 930 22" Blue/Turquoise in very good rideable condition, no major scratches, no rust, no dents for $80-, a 1989 950 18" White in barely rideable condition, some rust spots, stickers, no dents, almost new tires for $30- and a near mint - a couple of blemishes, but no thru scratches 1993 950 22" Black for $100-.

The '89's tires and front fork were transferred to a project, saving me the cost of tires for the project, and basically leaving me at net $0- into it, and the cost of nice rigid cr-mo fork; so about $50- ahead, and I still have the rest of it left. The '89 is a project bike that will be sold some time in the future. It now has a cool looking pink Italian 700c road fork on it now, that I purchase just for the Shimano 600 crown race that was on that fork - the crown race that was on the '89 Trek's fork is on the Italian fork. Plan is to make it into a street bike with 28-559 tires, Tektro R559 front brake, and a road bike 52/40 crank set.

The other two are my size and keepers

moved this here from framebuilders. Not the best place in the world to put it, but it's not a framebuilding topic
