Miyata 1000 LT opinions?

I am going to look at this bike today, and want some opinions. Does this bike live up to it's reputation? This does seem like a good deal for Seattle, agreed? just have the specs on a 1000, does anyone know of a link to the specs on the 1000LT?

https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/bik/4566182401.html

I am 5'8 and currently have a 1985 Raleigh Kodiak that I use for commuting, and really like. This would be a commuting replacement for that. Since I'd need to sell that and/or a 1985 Centurion Comp AT to raise the funds. I love those bikes, so could go either way on this, but I am kinda have a thing for Miyata. Might be a bit big but I plan on putting on a Porteur bar. Thanks for help on this one.

Yep, I'd buy it cuz it's in my size and that's a fair price.

It's probably a bit big for you but maybe we can work out a trade for something more in your size.

Good luck; go and grab it before it's gone.

Edit: heck my wife is in Seattle right now visiting her family. I'd ask her to pick it up for me but then there's no telling what piece of jewelry she might want for doing this for me, .

Great deal, run, don't walk!

Not to digress, but I find it interesting how this CL ad caption reflects opinions shared by BF members. Obviously the seller googled beforehand.

If only BF members had nice things to say about French bikes!

French bikes generally have little nice things to say to us! Mine might be Chinese built but it is always looking down its headtube at me LOL

Given that the ad is still up, it appears you have not yet went and acquired this one! This is a good deal...bike appears in great shape...and, yes, this is a wonderful riding bike...if my 1981 is any indication! My 1981 is nicknamed "M3"...for "Mile Munching Miyata"...as I get on it and the miles simply disappear! While mine is an early model, it is still great...and, as the ad indicates, the later 80's models got even better.

If you have not gotten it yet...go!

Just to close the loop I did get this bike and am not disappointed! I'd post a picture but I might get lynched since I but a real tall stem and a straight bar on it. Much more comfortable than way. Only downside was I sold a Raleigh Kodiak and a Centurion TA to cover costs. I miss the Kodiak, mistake.

Not much of a bike hoarder are you? I'd have found some other way to fiknance the LT. You still have a nice start though. Can't go wrong with Miyatas and Univegas.

An absolutely great bicycle and I hope it is still available. This is the Miyata 1000 that I owned and rode for many years. Wish that I had another...
