Trying to identify this cool old tank bike. I think the tank says VIKING on it
Bendix single speed red line rear hub
No serial number that I can find
Double top tube frame
Not a skip tooth but old
Pictures attached and I can get more if needed

You are likely to get more info over at ratrodbikes dot com.

Dozens (a hundred maybe?) bike brands existed in the US that sold bike like the one pictured. Many were manufactured by one of the bike bike companies, who put someone else's brand name on them. There is almost no information easily available about most of these brands.

(An inter net search is going to turn up the most info about Viking Cycles Ltd., an English company that made road-racing-touring bikes from before WW1 to the 1960s? You don't have one of those bikes.)

I think you are correct. The tank does look Columbiaish. Now I have to decide how much to restore it. Ratty rider or go all out. Thanks for your comments

Carnielli Bottecchia Ferry Dusika Europa Modell

Hi Gents!

does anybody know how vintage Carnielli Bottecchia serial numbers are coded?
I have this serialized bike with 6 digits, but I do not know how it could be decoded to get info about manufacturing year, and maybe manufacturing location. Thanks!

+1 it is an early 50's Columbia built tanker the poor condition and second tear branding make it a bike only worth $150-200.
