Mid 1970's Raleigh Sprite

Hi Guys;

I'm considering selling my mid 1970's Raleigh Sprite. 5 gears on the back, single chain wheel on the front. Its in very good condition. Tires and tubes are almost new.

What price should I ask for, here in Calgary AB?

Thanks

I recently sold three 10 speed Sprites, cleaned serviced, new tires and cables at $180 (21"mixte), $160 (23" diamond) and $140 (21" step thru).
All were very clean, polished and well presented.
You will do well to make sure it looks like new, and please level the saddle!

I had an identical Sprite (same color and size) without a rear rack. I live in a rural area sandwiched between two college towns, so I was hopeful I would get a good price and it would move fast. I listed it for $100 and I didn't receive any responses for weeks. Eventually it sold for $60. I recently found a white Sprite 10 speed on the side of the road. I picked and fixed it. I have it listed for $60 and haven't received any interest. No love for the Sprites in my area. I'm sure you'll do better.

Make a point to level the saddle raise the seat post slightly and then slightly lower the stem and turn the bars slightly forward to almost parrel to give it a classic look setup 10 minutes work to add $50-100 sale value. After that considering the clean shiny look original fenders if everything works good figure $180-200. If you can use it on another bike I would pull the rack doesn't add to value and is kinda nice.

I found the most success using the word "vintage" in the ad title. Online search's for "vintage" are getting you to the right market.
I even sold one from my front yard because the young lady who purchased it saw the word "vintage" as she was driving by.
