94(?) Specialized Allez Sport-worth it?

I'm going tomorrow to check out what I believe is a 94 Specialized Allez Sport. Overall (from pictures) it seems to be in very good condition. I know you can't truly evaluate it until you see it in person, but from what I can tell it looks pretty good, supposedly garaged all of it's life.

All I'm looking for, is a solid, reliable ride that I don't want to have to worry too much over. I'm not looking for a feather weight, mostly just functionality. I'm planning to use my SS for commuting, and ride this for most everything else.

This bike caught my eye when I saw it on our local classifieds, but the 'Sport' has given me a little pause since*that seems to designate some lower models of Specialized bikes.

It's got the RSX 100 downtube shifters (which I don't mind) and is listed for about a 150.

Any info or advice is appreciated.

Thanks.

Yes sport generally indicates the entry lever to that frame/frame design. The RX100 would also indicate that but that doesn't imply it just implies heavier.

I had a '98 Allez sport, it had Ultegra derailleurs and brakes, aluminum frame. Decent rider, but stiff enough to not be one of my favorites. I get the feeling that relative specs on the sport model may have been inconsistent over the years

Oops! Typo, I meant RX 100.
