What's this SHOGUN Hi-Ten worth?
This guy on CL is asking $125 for this bike and listing it as "RARE" but it needs new tubes and tires and tuning since it hasn't been ridden in something like 10 years. I was thinking of offering $100 'cause I'd like to get riding for $150 total after replacing the tubes and tires.
To be fair the frame seems to be in great condition but I'm not even able to test ride it to see what actual shape it's in.
The ad: https://southjersey.craigslist.org/bik/4558763567.html
S.I.W hubs * ARAYA 27 x 1 1/4 rims * SHIMANO Tourney/DEL-80 Brakes
GREENFIELD Kickstand * MOREY seat bar * SHIMANO gear system
SAKAE CUSTOM crank arm/sprocket * 100 HIGH TENSILE STEEL TUBING
handle bars stamped ROAD CHAMP and ALPS INDUSTRY COMPANY LTD
Cool spring hinge rear platform cargo holder. Pedals are the only non-original parts.
Any insight?

It's a very entry level bike that looks to be in very good shape. 125 is probably fair, not a smoking deal though. Those steel rims will notn help stop in wet weather, and its probably pretty heavy.

I am not so sure the whole bike was made in Japan.

That's an entry level bike, probably from the 1970s. In good condition it would be worth around 100$ where I live. Granted that it's not a high status bike, but it would make a good casual urban rider that you wouldn't have to worry about being stolen. I think there's a place for these humble "bike boom" bikes. If you're just getting into biking or need a bike to commute to high school or college (or work where there is not a secure place to lock up your bike), a bike like this could be a good option.

incazzare.
Low end, and it has steel rims. I would look for something a little better if I was you.
