Schwinn Excelsior X from 1937 ???
Hey guys;
I rescued an old Schwinn from the junkyard but I'm not really sure what I've got, and I want to ride it a lot next year.
It has serial # B31181 under the crank. It is a cantilever frame with an offset key lock (no key). And the "double duty" forks are missing the smaller fork rods. It has a tapered kick stand and older style handlebars.
I don't see any Autobike tank accessories. It has the Excelsior X badge.
The rims are rusty and I'd like to temporarily fit more modern high-pressure rims and tires. (What size?)
Please post any comments. My other bikes range from a Moulton and a carbon Trek 2500 to a 1960's MTD that comes apart in the middle..
Thanks

Can you post some photos please? I'm trying to get my head around a 1937 cantilever frame Schwinn as the patent application was filed in March, 1938. I suppose they could have built some before the filing.
