1994 Rocky Mountain Blizzard appraisal

I am interested in purchasing a 17.5" 1994 Rocky Mountain Blizzard that is completely original (I know the seller). What is a fair price, what number is too high?

Photos would help.

I just bought a Rocky Mountain Equipe - which is the blizzard with less Xt. First - I am Uber impressed by the frame and detail; it is a very cool bike. You have good taste.

The price for this is hard to establish because most MTBs from this period are so under valued! I believe that's slowly changing, but it's still largely a buyer's market. This particular builder is especially hard to gauge because it's less well known than the chance and ibis level bikes, but probably is more similar to that level than it is to a stump jumper. I am somewhat in guess land on this one...but I'll do my best - $400ish in nice shape.

That price would represent great value for the buyer, but I doubt the seller can get much more.

Condition is important.. mtb were made to get abuse.. Also, what components are hanging on it, really makes a difference. Higher end steel mtbs are more valued if they are parted out... early xt and xtr are pricey on ebay. I believe 1994 Blizzards are made from Tange Ultimate Ultralight tubes, which are very desirable.. Higher end Rockey Mountains many times were blinged out with Syncros, RaceFace and King parts.. If the bike has a rigid fork it is worth more than if it has an early Rock Shox. Syncros rigid forks are expensive and collectable.

England thanks to RetrobikeUK has an active vintage scene. At Retrobike you can see many examples of lovely Rockey Mountains.
