1950 Monark Super Deluxe
Okay so I just finished with a 1966 Raleigh restore and it came out great. Now I am searching for my next project. I am considering this one on craigslist. Vintage 1950 Monark Deluxe Girl's Bicycle w/ Springer, Complete
as you can see it needs some serious work. My main question is, is it worth 100 in that condition? I dont think so but a second opinion is always nice. Thanks in advance.
Here is a pic
He has the seat, handle bars, spring and headbadge...which all need to be restored or replaced.

If it was actually complete and together basically functioning even in this rough of shape it would be worth $100 or more fairly easy.As presented not together and not really complete it is questionable for restoration so I would say only $50 or so. On a classic American heavy weight from a lesser maker like this condition exspecially any missing none original parts can basically kill value.

$100.00? Not a chance, in my book and bikes are cheap to buy where I live. However, they are also plentiful, which is perhaps not the case in the OP's area.

I would have to see all the parts together. If it's complete; why isn't it?
If you're buying it strictly for the pleasure of rebuilding, go for it. If you're looking for profit (or even breaking even) keep looking.

Yeah. I do projects/restoration to turn a profit. I've seen these bikes fully restored go for well over 500 dollars but it would cost that much in parts and labor. I think if i do get it (leaning more towards not) i would just regrease all bearings and bottom bracket, throw some clear on it, keep that patina look. New tires and tubes. And even then it might be worth 100 lol. If i can talk him into 50 i will get it. Not a dollar more though.
