Falcon........?
Hey guys,
As said in my introduction iv just started riding july as my work place is so close i dont need to drive. I picked up a Falcon bike for peanuts. It in quite good condition and does the job. The thing is i really dont know anything about the bike apart from it being a falcon. Iv searched the net but the info is so skewed as my bike is a 5 speed "originally im not sure". it would be nice to know if i have something thats worth some £$€ as so not to destroy its looks or if its just a regular run of the mill that i can customize. Any way ill let the pictures talk

Mind you, I've only had one Falcon that I did some research on, but yours looks to be basic, entry level. I say, customize away and ride it like you stole it (which it sounds like you did) !

sounds like I stole it......why? Dude let me reiterate, it was a gumtree purchase. Anyway thanks for your speedy reply. Any idea what model it is? The decal Isn't readable. I gathered it wasn't anything special by the lugs but since being new to old racers i couldn't be sure.

I would take elboGreaze's comment to simply indicate that you got a steal of a deal, eh?

ElboGreaze's "ride it like you stole it (which it sounds like you did)" was a reference to your saying that you got it for peanuts; in other words, "congratulations for getting it at a great price."

.
...oh yeah, as evidenced from its brake levers and some of the frame details visible, not an especially valuable bike.

Whoa ! I just got home and saw I had been quoted . The folks above are correct , since you got it for peanuts, you probably didnt pay much ( you got a great deal !) I didnt mean that you literally took it from someone. As far as the model, I've not got a clue .

Sorry elboGreaze it was just me taking it literally lol. When I bought it I got excited about the half chrome forks thinking it was something awesome going on the info on the net and me not having a clue. So what's on the bike..... Sr handle bar stem, super maxy chain set, shimano derailleur and some weinmann rims with quando hubs that I heard are poo. So probably a late 70s entry model. Oh well its just for work
