Opinions?

Both will fit, haven't tried negotiating prices yet. Not sure of the year of both but they are the newer older bikes.
If anyone has greater info on year/model/value, please give your input.

- 200 - 300ish? 300 ish kinda being top dollar

There is still a lot of miles left in those bikes and the components look current enough that with a little dressing up , cleaning and fixing, -- would be perfectly suitable for club rides, local races and centuries .

That said -- sometimes if the components are beat, you have to be careful you are not just buying a frame with a lot of scrap metal surrounding it --- a completely blown out 7 or 8 speed groupset with a stretched chain and hooked teeth on sprockets and chainrings would still cost a pretty penny to aquire, plus new cables and tires --- All that can easilly add up to $200 or more and needs to be factored into the purchase when evaluating a bike

-- In the pics the bikes look good to go with a little bit of inspection and some TLC though

They look like different sizes to me. All things being equal I would go for the GT because I really want a Hellenic style frame and have a bit of a dislike for Cannondales.

Personally, I'm fond of GT bikes, but I've owned (and liked) Canondales too. So for me, it'd boil down to fit. If both fit equally well, then price would factor in.

as Bianchigirls states, not apples to apples when comparing two used bikes at different sizes

if just looking to flip, confirm the parts on the Dale, I'm not a fan of older Cannondales with AL forks

what are the prices the seller's offering?

I say yes, buy them. ;)

Both look to be about the same size IMHO.

$200 asking price on the GT with brifters is a good deal.

$400 for the Cannondale, unless it has an Tiagra or Ultegra group on it, I'd pass.

The Cannondale looks maybe a 52, and the GT looks a 54. Would 200$ for the Caad be better?

The bikes look to me to be two sizes apart, hard to tell sometimes. The Diamondback looks like as 56cm, and the Cannondale a 52cm (or maybe a 54cm).

Also the setup on both bikes looks wrong. If someone is riding them that way, the bikes are both undersized for the riders, and I'd be looking to see if the seatposts are overextended, and if there is some damage to the seatpost and/or the seat tube.

To determine what would be a good deal, you need to see the bikes in person, and determine if they even fit. If both bikes were priced at $200, in similar physical condition, and both bike fit, most people would gravitate towards the Cannondale as a better value at $200. I would say the better value bike FOR YOU would depend on your intended use for the bike. If riding is your objective, pick the bike that rides better (calls to you) in your estimation. If "Flipping" the bike is your objective, the Cannondale will sell for more money in the end, BUT may take longer to sell than the Diamondback will (since the Diamondback will sell more quickly for less money).

The larger diameter tubes on the C-Dale make the bike look smaller than it may be, so you have to ride them to see which fits better. I doubt you'd get the seller to drop his price by half to $200, I know I wouldn't if I were the seller. If you could purchase for low $300's it would be a good deal and if you didn't like it, you'd get most of your money back.
