Help with 1972 Schwinn Paramount

Hi everyone. Bought this recently and would like an estimate on value for insurance. It looks like the original buyer swapped out clinchers for the tubulars, but as far as I can tell it's pretty much original. Appreciate any feedback on value.

Thanks
Tom

$1200 would be my guess.

It appears all original and in great shape so for insurance I would value it at $1500.

In that condition...I'd say selling price on ebay is between 1500-1800 properly marketed. Deduct for fees.

It's'so a beauty!

Thanks everyone for weighing in. I love this bike. I've been watching for years for a Paramount and this one popped up in my own backyard. I snapped it up quick with no haggling. I've been enjoying riding it but dang, that 43 year old seat is hard!

Hi,
As you already know not uncommon for the classic brooks saddle to be a little hard, rolling it with a baseball bat and some hours in the saddle will do the trick...I think the tubulars are original as it has campy brakes etc.mine came with tubulars as well P-15 could be had with either type.
As mentioned very nice example and pricing seems about right considering condition...size may be a factor when setting the value,
Regards, Ben

Bikes: No-name LH drive track. Also ride an Exxon Graftek, a Masi, a Trek R200 or a RR Boneshaker for fun!

A couple of Things to Be Aware Of:

1. I don't think Gran Compe brakes are OEM on Paramounts; I remember Campy sidepulls or Weinmann centerpulls, and
2. The Avocet front skewer is not OEM and if the hubs match the skewer the wheels likely are not OEM either.

Gorgeous, beautiful bike in any case! $1500 for insurance, selling value more like $1200 with the non-OEM parts.

Get a can of Brooks Proofhide or similar product and you may not need to get really physical with that seat - getting physical does shorten their life somewhat.

Also, for safety sake please lower that stem if it is a Cinelli (it should be). If it's a Nitto Technomic don't worry as they really go that high...

I cannot tell from the image well enough but the drive side pedal may be missing its dust cap or it is a replacement... Or not Campagnolo pedals.
